Future Infrastructure
The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) project is a high-speed road network between Cavite and Laguna provinces located south of Manila, Philippines. Construction began in June 2017, while commissioning is expected in July 2020.
The Cavite-Laguna Expressway project will improve traffic flow by minimising congestion on Governor’s Drive, Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road, and Aguinaldo Highway. It is also expected to reduce the travel time between CAVITEX and SLEX from the current 90 minutes to approximately 45 minutes.
It will also provide efficient transportation links for approximately 11 billion people living in the Cavite and Laguna provinces, as well as benefit economic zones within the area.
The project consists of two sections, Cavite and Laguna. The Cavite portion, which is 26.48km-long, will start from Tirona Highway in Kawit municipality in Cavite province and end at Aguinaldo Highway, Silang municipality, in Cavite.
Up to eight grade-separated interchanges will be built along the route in locations including Kawit IC (Cavitex), Silang IC, Governor’s Drive IC, Laguna Boulevard IC, Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay IC, Techno Park IC, Opened Canal Service Road IC, and Silang East IC.
